ジャズサックス奏者、中村誠一(T.sax)の娘。5歳よりダイアナ石山Song &Danceミュージカル教室に通いダンスと共にミュージカルナンバーを学ぶ。 ミュージカル女優を目指していた高校2年次、エラ・フィッツジェラルドの歌に衝撃と感銘を受け、ジャズヴォーカリストになりたいと思うようになる。
04’4月洗足学園音楽大学ジャズボーカル科に入学、Dana Hanchard氏に師事する。それと同時にライブ活動を精力的に始め、 08’3月 洗足学園ジャズヴォーカル科を首席で卒業。
卒業後は、08’5月30日公開 覚和歌子、谷川俊太郎、監督のカンヌ 国際映画際出展作品 『ヤーチャイカ』の主題歌を唄い、「味の素ギフト」「タイヤ館」「三ツ矢サイダー」CMやCMナレーションなどでも活躍。08’7月 渡米。ボストンにあるBerklee College of Musicに留学。Gabrielle Goodman氏に師事し、NYでライブ活動なども始める。 10’9月、アメリカから帰国後、第30回浅草JAZZコンテストにて銀賞受賞。ディズニーオンアイス2011では、「アラジン」 ジャズミン役、「美女と野獣」ベル役の日本語吹き替えの歌を担当する。
現在、ジャズシンガーとして、ソロ活動をする傍ら、紗理(vo),優日(vo)の２人から成るジャズコ–ラスユニット"Chai- Chii Sisters(チャイチーシスターズ)"でも活躍中。2012年5月2日発売のジャズシンガーakiko と共にニューオリンズでレコーディングしたミニアルバム、"Swingy Swingy with Chai- Chii Sisters"にてフィーチャリングされる。
同月、チャイチーシスターズとしてMotionBlueYOKOHAMAにてワンマンライブを開催。
また、akikoと共にNHK BS1「地球テレビ エル・ムンド」のBAND OF THE WEEKへの出演や、Billboard Osaka、Billboard Tokyoでのライブ共演などで活躍。
同年12月には、JFN38局ネットの全国放送ラジオ番組「Big Special」にチャイチーシスターズが単独初出演、３時間の生放送で自らがパーソナリティーとなりライブの模様が放送され、好評を得る。
2013'10月には、待望のデビューアルバム「The Sweetest Sounds」をリリース。音楽雑誌JAZZ JAPANなどで大きく取り上げられ、同年11月、Thelonious Monk institute of Jazzがサポートするヴォーカルコンペティション”Osaka Asian Dreams Jazz Competition 2013’”で優勝!!

Sari Nakamura is a jazz vocalist from Yokohama Japan.
Born in 1985, Sari grew up in a very musical household.
Sari’s father is a renown tenor saxophone player who has
Played with well-known jazz musicians through out Japan.
Jazz was therefore a major part of Sari’s musical education from
a very young age.
Sari started out not as a musician, but as a dancer from age 5.
She studied many genres and specialized in Broadway Musical
Style of dance until age 21.When Sari was 17years old, however,
her father gave her Ella Fitzgerald’s album “Ella sings Cole Porter”.
From then on, she decided to focus on music and made it her goal to
be a jazz vocalist.
Sari later enrolled in the Senzoku College of Music in Yokohama and graduated at the top of her class in spring of 2008. In her last year, Sari auditioned for Berklee and was a successful recipient of the world scholarship tour. Sari has been at Berklee for one year and has studied with Jerome kyles, Donna McElroy and most recently Gabrielle Goodman. She is currently helping her friends and fellow Berkee students on venous recitals coming up this semester. Sari hopes to be able to collaborate with other musicians from around the world at Berklee in the future. She is also working towards holding a recital at Berklee, Singing in a vanity of musical genres.
